My Poetry

I started this blog so I could neatly archive my work. You should find my poetry very diverse. I would like to believe there is something here for almost everyone.

It was only recently that I became interested in poetry. I started taking care of my mother after she suffered a stroke and we began writing stories and poems together. It has been very therapeutic for us both.

This isn't a complete collection of my poetry, my first poems I self published under the moniker, A Pet Banana Production. The first self published book, "A Pet Banana" is a rhyme/story about colors and the second is a collection of poetry I created with my mother titled, "An Elephant is On My House." I hope you enjoy my writing and I would love a visit to my author page!
Thanks!

Old King Caddle

Old king Caddle, vain Overseer,
He looked in the mirror
And looked to the rear,
He looked to the front
And looked really near,
He looked at his court
And looked at their fear,
He looked and looked
And let out a sneer,
“By all that is Caddle
In my mustache, what is this SMEAR!

To fuss.
To coax; spoil.
To attend officiously.
To tease; scold; annoy.

Lad on a Ladder

The lad on a ladder, did he really matter?
Seeing the lad on a ladder, the ladettes did scatter!
And scatter they did, after seeing the lad on a ladder,
the lad on a ladder made their little hearts pitter patter!
I guess the lad on a ladder, really did matter,
if he made the ladettes scatter, and their little hearts pitter patter!

A poem???

I can't think of a poem today
I can't think of any wit to write
Not even a point to pen
A verse to vie
Why, oh why?

Must be that clown....

An Old Torn Bible

I cursed the heavens,
when I didn’t get my way
I laid blame at God’s feet,
every night and every day.
I was give an old torn Bible,
and began to read His Word
I opened it from being curious,
because of things I have heard.
I cried with all my heart,
as feelings welled up in my chest
I finally saw the Light,
and just how much I was blessed.
I know now of my Savior,
after all this time I could finally see
I couldn’t hold back the tears,
because on that cross He suffered and died for me……

Milk Dud (take 2)

I just want to say,
I’m sorry I have been a WHEY.

It’s just life makes me curdle,
As I churn until the morrow
And strain through the sorrow

Will I ever get on top?
Since I’m such a milksop?
These thoughts I won’t UDDER
I’m sure I will get BUTTER!

Poetic license?
Poetic apology?
Poetic justice?

Condemn

Thinking and pondering, lest one is least
Minds shifting toward, fighting, delighting,
What you say, what you say, you snappy, sappy belittled beast?

“condemnant quod non intellegunt”

Scratching the surface, dwelling inside, picking and prattling,
Curious crafting words of disdain, wanting more
From something not, you don’t believe? Scorn it now, Lift it and start rattling!
Prattling and rattling what you adore!

“condemnant quod non intellegunt”

Demons rhyming, writhing, chiming, slapping,
Down, what I love most, sleeping through my fears,
What have I to boast? What have I! Let me know, my mind is rapping!
Not I, said you, between your dirty leers……

Rocker Roller

He was a rocker
He was a roller
An every night he showed her

He was a singer
He was a swinger
With his lyrics he would stringer

He was a teaser
He was a pleaser
And women he could appeaser

A legend on the stage
Holes in his jeans
Call him a star
Living his dream

He was a rocking
He was a rolling

Lonely Traveler

He was a lonely traveler
His thumb stuck out in the cold,
He was a lonely traveler
Down the old road he strolled,
He was a lonely traveler
Trying to make his way home,
He was a lonely traveler
Then he found a little Gnome,
He was a lonely traveler
Under the stone man sat a toad,
He was a lonely traveler
Until with him the polliwog rode.
